Timothy's World Coffee

A regional player in the Canadian coffee wars, Timothy’s World Coffee came to us through their agency to create a jingle and sonic brand for their 2003 radio campaign. They wanted a very authentic sound to compliment their positioning as the real coffee experts in a very crowded field.

We developed the “Coffee means the world to us” tag line and married it to a world beat themed musical identity. But what really sold them on us was the creation of a rhythm track for the music built literally from the sampled sounds of one of their stores. Instead of real instruments we built rhythm tracks from the sound of steam escaping from the espresso machines, spoons tapping cups and saucers and the audible pouring of real Timothy’s coffee into real Timothy’s coffee cups. It was an organic approach completely in harmony with a brand proud to serve organic fair trade.
