So here’s where we talk about several new media specific words. You’ll recognize them right away. They’re words recent to the dictionary, words like podcast. They’re familiar words being used in unfamiliar ways. You know, as verbs when we all know they are nouns, or is it the other way round? Anyway, you know them, they're words like gaming and flash. And don't forget those compound constructions, words like powerpoint.

Let’s start with podcast, it's really just a fancy new word for a downloadable audio file that someone can keep on their computer, iPod or mp3 player. See. It’s nothing to fear at all. As for the content, that’s up to you, but we’ll make sure it sounds great.

Now as far as gaming goes, we’re really just talking about sound and music design and voice over. Pretty simple but as with most things there is a twist. Gaming enthusiasts are a hyper, hard to please bunch who judge their favourite titles with an excruciating attention to detail and obsession with the tiniest nuance. Great sound is one of those nuances so there’s no room for error here.

So, why look to boom? Well above and beyond our Production Director’s many talents in all things related to audio production and sound and music design, his nickname is Gamer. I think I’ve made my point.

As for recording sound for powerpoint and flash presentations? At the end of the day it’s really just about preparing sound for insertion into a media. Our knowledge of how those media handle sound is our secret weapon though and we are always ready to fire away on your behalf.
